Craig,
Montana
The village of Craig has a year
'round population of 44 hardy souls. Ranching is the main
industry in the area, but cows don't take dry flies, so most of
us have turned to fishing. Headhunters is one of
three fly shops in town; other businesses include the
Craig
Trout Camp,
Izaak's Restaurant, the Craig Bar, and even an attorney. What Craig lacks in
cosmopolitan flair, it
makes up for in small town flavor. There are lots of fisherman
(and dogs) that walk
the streets of Craig, and the town is just the right size for
you to park your car and really enjoy the atmosphere of a
classic western fishing town. Weekend nights you may find a
Bluegrass Band playing on Izaak's deck...summertime fun. Craig
is a great place to relax, reflect, and relive your fly fishing
adventures.
Within the surrounding
communities you will find everything to make your trip
enjoyable. Wolf Creek is 6 miles south of Craig, while Cascade
is 20 miles to the north. Great Falls and Helena are each
45 interstate miles away, and offer all services and amenities.
Below is an essential list of core services you may need during
your stay.
