It happened one day in June
It is on.
Day one of the PMD hatch has happened.
Mark it in the calendar for June 20, 2019.
Historically about, or around the 12th. But, what does history mean.
So, we are in the neighborhood.
Fishing as we know it is back. Fishing as we love it, is back.
It happened one day in June.
I loved it so much I wrote this Haiku…
Summer emergence.
Taking flight. Mating. Spinning.
June Pale Morning Duns.
PS The Summer Solstice is today too. Get out there and enjoy a long one today.

5, 7, 5 Good Job! How it lasts for my arrival on 7/11
What size PMD?
14′ thru 18’s. Ephemerella infrequent and Ephemerella inermis.
Typically in my 22 years on the river on my annual visit it seems the trout prefer the emergers to the duns. Are the fish you see rising, and catching, eating the duns or emergers? Thank you.
Yeah, not a ton of dun eaters as you know here on the Mo. Emergers yes. Cripples yes. Spinners yes. Duns no. But, they will eat the dun in the earliest few days of the PMD. Got a few this last week on the dun Matt. But most on the cripple or spinner.
Matt, had a couple eat the dun today. 6/26
