New Breed Chicks Rule Redux Jana
Found this image roaming through the files last night. My cousin Jana Raisler with this nice rainbow from a couple years back.
Jana lives in Sea/WA and shops at Avid Angler in Lake Forest Park. Avid Angler hosts a trip or two annually to Headhunters of Craig.
So kinda all in the family this Friday.
Locally the weather is great. Th anglers are out. The shop is buzzing.
Swingers are swinging hard. Bringing them up too in the shallow water we are experiencing this spring. It seems as though the water conservation from the water managers will be the theme in 2021. Not too much up there in the hills and the low elevation snows have all but disappeared. The skiers tell us that the season is all but done as well. No more powder days?!?!
Nymphers getting it figured out as well. Dick Magill wrote a piece the other day about the Spring Outlook. Check it out if you want a bit more on the current river situation. Less pink and more mayfly. Or half and half. Hard to put the pink away fro the next couple months. But why not one pinky on top, one bastardized PT on the bottom.
Water levels are holding at 3800 cfs. Water temps are rising and currently peaking daily at 38F. You can really sense and understand how water temps play a role int eh metabolism of our trout. Every day they get a bit zippier!
Shop open daily at 8am. Shuttles, discounted Spring Special guide trips, info, the Best Flies Under the Big Sky, discounted spring lodging, new 2021 rods and the most trout spey gear you will find anywhere. Knowledge to. Come by and let us help you raise the bar on all things Mo River Trout.
