Friday June 25th Missouri River Fishing Report
Good number of rising trout on the dry fly. Tough out there. PMD’s and Caddis. Don’t drag the fly over the heads of the rising trout on your first cast. Do yourself a favor and leave that portion from the equation. Spinners rule for both of the caddis and PMD. Better hatches on the upper for the Dry Fly Gang. Blinders roam down low.
Nymphers getting them in the center. Find the deep lane and sink the fly into it. Caddis pupa and PMD trailers are the key to the bobber lobber success. Split shot or not. Buy a new nymph line at Headhunters of Craig. The canyon seems to be attracting the Indi-Gang. And even some down low?
Streamer anglers are hibernating til late September.
Swingers can find action with PMD softies and caddis as well.
Not one guide available at the shop this month. Lodging has a couple Swiss cheese holes in it. The river is busy. Peak season.
