Yesterday we had a short and sweet fishing report. We may have the same today. Just blowing harder is all. The fish will rise in the leeward shores. If you can find one…positive attitudes are something that dry fly anglers do not have a hard time achieving.
The dry fly fishing is good, when the wind does not blow. It has been blowing daily. Today is no different. Tomorrow?
The big Baetis are here. They are not on the water long with the high winds we have been experiencing as of late. This weekend promises light and variable winds. Check out the forecast. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

A Holiday Weekend is upon us, Veteran’s Day. Why not take a few days and visit the Missouri River. We have CHEAP LODGING @ Craig Trout Camp for a mere $100. Brown and Rainbow Cabins are available along with the Craig House that sleeps 6, and the Sutton House which sleeps 5. Sutton for $200 and Craig House for a scant $250! Kitchens, satellite TV, couches…all you need to bring is the fun!
The cripple continues to be the favorite fly for dry fly anglers. Seconded by the big Adams. The third? An unweighted Pheasant Tail, I think?
Streamer fellers have been having good luck on the straight swing. On the dangle. In fact man. Let it sit. Traditional buggers, unweighted. OR very light can be the key. They can be in skinny water. The fewer boats, and bankies on the water allows those big boys to sit in the holding water, from the bight before. Most will not move out of there until a significant hatch occurs, or a boat rolls over them. So never discount the skinny and thin runs.
