Dries and streamer flies should get you through the weekend ahead. Today, Saturday in the midst of a fabulous fall!
Nymphers are having an absolute ball this fall. Come on out if you like any of the three disciplines.
Nymph flies that are arguably on fire include any flavor or size of Pheasant Tail. The smaller the better though. While 16’s work well, the size 20 is really fantastic. Zebras are worth tying on as well. Subsurface October Caddis, Scuds and sows, pseudo’s and baetis, midges all play roles in your day.
Dry flies that are talked about at the bar include Split Wing Baetis, Parachute Adams in all flavors, CDC emergers, Purple Phase, Purple Haze, Smoke Jumper, D & D Cripple, Blue Ribbon Crip, CDC Floating Emerger.
How about swinging a soft hackle?
Streamer Junkies have had some good reports, but not stellar. Keep throwing the line into fishy water and you will be rewarded. But, it si not red hot. Flahsy and white were the keys yesterday. Well, not magical, but not terrible either. Some nice fish to hand.
The weather is sunny, with periods of clouds. Tomorrow seems to be better, according to the weather dude. Overcast skies. Maybe we will get some clouds today as well? Let’s hope.
