Orvis Clearwater Spey

HEADHUNTERS SAYS The Orvis Clearwater is a great entry level Trout Spey, and should be considered for those looking to get into the swing game. These rods fly under the radar, until someone casts them. The feedback from both customers and our guide staff is excellent. The Clearwater excels when using smaller flies and lighter heads. Snappy and light in the tip, it’s a comfortable rod that doesn’t require a lot of energy, and won’t wear you out after a long day on the water. The 11′ 4″ 3 weight is a  great crossover rod for soft hackles and smaller buggers, and is totally comfortable throwing both Scandi and Skagit heads. For bigger soft hackles, leeches and large streamers, we highly recommend the 11’4″ 4 weight. It’s a lively rod that can move from a quick Scandi stroke to a compact sustained anchor stroke with ease.
