Still cold and snowing in Craig MT
Your fishing report for President’s Weekend ahead of us.
The forecast is terrifyingly cold. Highs reaching Zero degrees or thereabouts. We are in the shop daily. Booking, angering phone calls, selling rods.
High air temps for the weekend will keep you away. You may tie flies, clean the garage, watch fishing vids, or nap.
Have not had a shuttle in a couple weeks or longer. We thought maybe today we would have an angler or two around, but nobody has showed as of yet. The air temps outside at the time of press are holding at 8F. Probably not a shuttle today either.
President’s Day is a high volume outside recreation day and weekend. A big one for ski areas! I remember long days at the hill during the ski years. Both John and Julie were involved in the ski biz for better than a decade too. They remember.
We would have anglers if it were not for the weather. Looking into the future we see the greater Craig area we do not see air temps conducive for fishing for the upcoming 10 days! Ahh, February. Not a good month.
But again, we will take the snow pack. Bring it. Snow all weekend long and with high temps next week peaking at 23F, it will not leave us. It does blow around a bunch with our friendly winds here in the canyon.
Actively hiring our summer staff and see think we may have it mostly wrapped up.
Back at the shop tomorrow ready to roll!

Saw on the news last night (2/19) that this is the coldest average February for your neck of the woods. From Great Falls up into the high-line and east was an average from -1 degF to -6 degF. 3rd coldest here in Bozeman. The whole state was 1st thru 3rd except Butte which is the 10th coldest on record.
