Meet the Team
-
Sara Roholt
Sales Manager & Buyer
Sara has been at Headhunters since year 2, so she’s seen it all. As head buyer, she oversees all of our inventory, and is In charge of our soft goods, logo wear, waders, boots, rods and reels. Her knowledge and input are invaluable. As the most experienced fly shop staffer on the Missouri River, she has seen, met, shot and caught just about everyone and everything in the area. Sara spends each autumn chasing upland birds.
-
Derek Herrin
Shop Manager & Fly Buyer
A native of Helena, Derek has fished the Missouri and Montana his entire life. He has worked his way up to become our store manager, and is in charge of the staff and daily operations at Headhunters, as well as buying all of our flies. Derek enjoys throwing big streamers and pursuing big angry fish, whether they are trout or not. If you have any questions about flies, he is a great resource.
-
Conor Quinn
Assistant Manager
Conor has worked at Headhunters for several years, and brings a wealth of retail experience he gained while working at REI in his home state of Iowa. Conor finds the trout fishing a bit better in Montana than back home, and he can be found chasing trout on the Missouri when he’s not in the shop.
-
Eric Woods
Shop Staff
Eric is heading into his second year working in the shop. He comes to Craig from Washington, where he grew up in a family of trout, salmon and steelhead anglers. He enjoys the crew and guides he works around, and the knowledge he is surrounded by at Headhunters. “Fishing the Mo’ is like a dream you never want to end!”.
-
Julie Arnold
Bookings & Office Manager
Julie is our office manager, and is charge of Fishing and Lodging Bookings at Headhunters. Those aren’t her only duties around the shop, but it’s certainly what she’s known for. Julie handles nearly every guided trip, lodging and rental boat booking at Headhunters, and that’s a lot! She works almost every day from early to late, so when she’s not working, she’s asleep.
-
Nichole Jackson
Housekeeping
Nichole is in charge of Housekeeping at the Craig Trout Camp and Headhunters. By “in charge”, we mean she does everything. Nichole is a native of the Canyon, and enjoys floating the river and hiking every chance she gets. The lodging experience at Headhunters would not be the same without her.
-
Jim Pompati
Shuttle Chief
Jim has been running shuttles on the Missouri River since Lewis & Clark came through. He’s been with us since the beginning, and we couldn’t run the biggest shuttle service on the river without him. He’s a fixture in Wolf Creek and Craig, and can often be found helping the area ranching community by reducing the local gopher population from the hood of his truck.
-
Mark Raisler
Co-owner | Outfitter
Mark splits his time between guiding, writing the blog for our website, and helping to curate our selection of tackle and flies, particularly as they relate to dry fly fishing. Mark is a fly line junkie, and he’s constantly thinking about how to improve line performance, including with our own Headhunter Line. He and his wife Danielle are currently half-way through visiting every Major League Baseball stadium.
-
John Arnold
Co-owner | Outfitter
After a long career of guiding fly fishers in Montana, Idaho and Washington, John has taken a silent role at Headhunters. His main focus now is working behind the scenes on websites, and occasionally on product decisions. Along with his wife Julie (above) he is still bumming around Craig, looking for a fish or two with his spey rod.
Employment.
Are you interested in working at the premiere destination fly fishing spot in Montana? We operate all year long, and are always looking for knowledgeable and passionate people who want to be part of our team. We are always looking for seasonal employees, and after sticking around for a year or 2, many have become full-time employees.
Like many small town recreation destinations, housing is the biggest obstacle to living the Craig Life.
If so, please fill out the form and we will get back to you if it sounds like you’d be good fit at headhunters. You can also use it to ask general employment questions from our management team.
